I have removed my stock air boxes and cleaned and removed acid corrosion, rust etc. Respraying them black. I had ordered new air box to carb boots some time ago in preparation for this job. The old ones were just rotting out. Pulled one out to put it on and there are two springs in the kit for each. There was only one on each when I removed them from the bike. The parts fiche shows only one "tension spring" on each. Am I missing something? What's the extra spring for?

Pump's, I guess the extra is in case you lose one? You are talking about the flat spring that hold's the filter aren't you?

No. Not the flat spring. There is a real thin one that goes around the rubber boot.

Yea, I see what your talking about. Are the two springs you got the same in both diameter of the wire and the diameter of the whole spring? Don't know why you got two, as your diagram clearly shows only one on each intake. The only thing I think is a packaging mistake or they are of different tension's.

They look exactly the same and there are two in each package.....I'll keep 'em, I just don't know what they are for.
