Would like to make controls for them . I wouldn't mind having stock positions and forward controlls.

I've thought about a combination of the two also. Maybe replacing the locking bolts on the shifter and brake with pieces of rod long enough to attach a link to the forward setting. Might work.

Well, you could just do "Poor Mans Pegs":
Just a length of threaded rod and 6 threaded standoffs finished with the pegs from JC.

Pete, neat idea, but won't work on some bikes.
On my 75 the headpipes come down along the frame, covering the engine mount bolts.
I modified some pieces of garden tractor transmission mount plates. bolted on with engine mount bolts. A couple u-bolts, a length of heavey wall aluminum pipe and some bicycle hand grips.

And with the highway pegs bolted hard to the frame, I feel less vibration on them than I do on the rubber mounted stock pegs.
