This may be a stupid question, but did you remove all of the old fiber bushing? If any is left in the swing arm the new won't go in.

I finally got them in!

I ended up trying the threaded rod method and it worked actually really well besides that it bent the threaded rod and stripped a good portion of it because the bushing were so though.

One of the washers that i used actually began to dent inwards and distorted part of one of my bushing so i'm going to need to hone it a little in order to fit the deal inside it. The other side is fine though so we should be good.

Thanks!

Just be careful as you hone the bushing. If you take to much away it will be loose. The bushing being bronze is softer than steel. Not hard to go to far.

It's possible your bushings were not machined to the correct diameter-- what make are they? I wonder if anyone else has encountered this.

I had a hard time getting mine in also. I beat them in with a block of wood and a hammer.

Clean up the swing arm bushing sockets with an old brake cylinder hone. Then they slip right in.
