I just did the cam chain and guide. While I had It apart I swapped out my right side cover for the one I modified to hook in An external oil filter and oil cooler.
I got the filter mounted and plumbed in. It lowered the engine temps about 15 to 20 degrees.
I can't find the right fittings to plumb in the cooler. I guess I'll have to cut up the lines from the 650 Seca.
When I had the cover off I swapped out some of the clutch parts. The 75 basket has a broken spring in the back side.
I had a complete 82 clutch on it. I have ridden it for more than 2500 miles.
When I was ready to do the clutch stuff, I grabbed the clutch to see if it would move. The basket didn't but the clutch plates did wiggle. I knew the left side cover was off, so it wasn't holding the clutch open any. No wonder the clutch slipped.
I was wondering what the difference between it and the 75 clutch. I swapped out the hub and added the extra plates. The 82 was 5 steel and 6 fiber, the 75 was 6 and 7.
The 82 has a convex washer behind the first steel plate. I think this was added to smooth the engagement of the clutch. I think it adds a little bit of drag.
The 75 engages a bit rougher and the drag is maybe a bit less. If I had to wait a few days to a week I might not have noticed the difference, It was a very minimal difference.

Leo......I ran a 80 clutch with the one less plate for 60 thou......it would drag and slip........went to a 79 clutch and it does neither of those things.....

The 82 and the 75 are very close in the way they work. I wouldn't have noticed the difference if I didn't ride one do the swap ride the other. AS far as the 75 being a bit rougher, you only notice it at take off from a stop. Once moving not noticeable.
