I got my new cam chain and front guide installed. Wow what a difference. At idle the engine is so quite that if the exhaust didn't make noise, you would think it wasn't running.
Anyway, I took it for a good long ride today. 85 degrees, a bit humid. The right side cylinder just below the head 244 degrees, left side 277 degrees. It was about the same before the new parts.
I think it had an air leak between the carb holder and head. When I had it apart to install the cam chain and guide I replaced the gaskets. It may still have an air leak. I'll check closer tomorrow.
I may still be a bit lean on the carbs. I have a set of 76 or 77 carbs set up with 74 internals.
ain 130
Pilot 45
4N8 needle clip set to #3 slot
Needle jet Z-6
Air screw 1 1/2 turns out
K&N Oval pods
Baffles knocked out of stock mufflers
Plugs look good. Runs strong, pulls god to 80 mph, get a little funny feeling, need rear shocks.
I may try setting the needle clip to position #4
Does this sound about right?
