Question I am installing new domed nuts and other chrome for my XS. I ordered the set from Mikes (that place is a savior), and I'm not able to install all of the pieces behinds the ATU cover. The ATU screws are tight and I don't want to strip them out. How can I get the screws out? Someone help a newbie out!

Would it make any difference if the motor was warm? Just a thought I had as I typed this.

I'm probably the one having a complete brain fart but what is the ATU?

I'm guessing the advance timing unit covers--the chrome housings that cover the points and advance governor if ya have 'em and the ends of the camshaft if ya don't. I'm also guessing he needs to pull 'em to install new rocker shaft caps. Use a hammer-powered (not air-powered) impact driver, then replace the phillips head screws with allens.

Right... Has anyone done this? This is probably the best way.

Yep, this is the way to do it. The impact tool (got mine at Sears) was able to remove several badly butchered fasteners that I was expecting would require serious effort to remove. Get one!
