I've read countless articles on here and have gotten most of the information I believe I need to make the swap to a springer front end using the stock neck. . .a question I can't seem to nail down is using a 2" under springer. . . .do these require the need for the 21" HD wheel? If so - why is this - is it the axle difference? I'm not following. I have the 19" spoke front wheel that I was hoping to retain. . .

Any info would be greatly appreciated

I've been told that over the weekend that the 19" Yamaha wheel will work with a 2" under springer. . .can anyone one else confirm?

it's more a function of spacing and axle size, the difference between a 3.00x21 3+3+21=27 and a 3.5+3.5+19=26 is only a 1/2" as far as clearance to the fender or fork stem

Ok, another follow up question then. . . .is it mandatory that I buy the brake caliper kit as well? or can i somehow attach the caliper I have to the springer?
