That's why i took the engine apart in the first place, the chain was grinding on the bare guide plate. all the rubber had crumbled off & was dumped with the oil on that fateful oil change. usually, th ... |

I've quadruple checked my valve lash on this engine, always pretty close or in spec. I've tried the min & max spcs to see if it made a difference, but it did not. |

Just signed up today, but owned my 79-SF for about 6 years & a77-D barn queen for 2.
My 79-SF has been mod'ed a bit, but frame & engine are still stock, as most of the rest of the bike so far.
