Good advice so far..
I'd give all the nuts/bolts a once over, adjust the handlebars to wherever is most comfortable. Maybe take some red locktite with you too.

I put my wassell tank on ebay, gonna end up makin a little cafe racer out of the yamaha and this tank doesn't sit right on my new XLCH so back to ebay it goes!

with something that thin you're going to have to go slow, pretty much making tack welds all the way around jumping around to opposite sides giving it some time to cool off.

I've got one thats attatched to a cb750. you can have the whole thing for $2000. Or check ebay. Theres probably 100 used ones on there at any given time.

xs1961-have you bought any metal lately? there's close to (if not more than) $20 worth of material there. but i know what you're saying. it'd be cool to offer another set thats more economical.
