well, thanks for all the help. I have gone back and redone points, DOUBLE CHECKED TIMING!!!!, and now i just have to deal with a weird pull to the left. Another post here we come.

I dont know if you ever fixxed your problem miller0613 but it sounds like points to me, i had the same problem, and replaced the points with the right gap, and wow what a differance! good luck!

worked over the tune up, changed plugs, points, and cleaned my air filters. going to check my fuel/air mixture tomorrow. thanx for the link!!

Yeah i started with google, my only prob now is when i search "turn signal switch" or any variation i still cant find even the handlebar housing part! I feel stupid, but its a start!
