I have a 1983 Heritage and I want to run a Dunlop Elite 3 160mm rear tire. I can have the hub laced with a wider rim no problem. I want to retain sprung suspension.
1. Is there a wider swing arm I can adapt to fit?
2. Can the drive sprocket be offset enough to line up?

Appreciate any advice

Jim

- richard pollock at mule motorcycles has 2 radian swing arms ready to use, for sale
www.mulemotorcycles.ne...-sale.html

- drive sprockets are available if necessary or you can get one made
- chain line is very important-do all your measuring before beginning, start with centreing your wheel in the frame-may involve swingarm adjustment, offset sprockets are the final adjustment

Gary Poh makes offset countershaft sprockets. Takeas a little while to get them done due to heat treating them. Richard Pollick has stated you can gain as much as .100 of an inch with stock setup by trimming down nut that holds it on and spacing sprocket out.

I'm using a 1/4 offset sprocket from Gary Poh (1/4 inch is as far as you can go on sprocket without having to space out outer cover and clutch pushrod) so I can keep the stock look and clear a 160. I'm also using a radian swingarm and my rear wheel is a 2000 Harley aluminum hub, being laced to a Sun WM9 wheel with a 160/80-18
