I may have put this in the wrong place first so I am trying here. just picked up another xs650 need it like i need a hole in my head but could not turn it down 1980 with 11,000 miles off the road since 1991 for $80.00 so it was one i could not let go by. PROBLEM is pistons are frozen i believe guy has since lost the key for it, but when you hit the kick start nothing is moving, the kicker goes down with some resistence but does not move the pistons, i took the plugs out and tried but don't see or feel any thing that way either. also when it is put in gear and you turn the rear wheel all you get is a dull drag in all the gears, any thoughts or how to go bout fixin would be great

I would start by spraying pb blaster in the spark plug holes, be generous. Let it soak a over night, try kicking it, repeat spraying, soaking, kicking it. if this wont free it up, you probably need to pull the engine apart.
Doing at least a top end job. Not a real hard job.
A good manual and help from here and it can live again.
