I am running the 16" mag with drum..... the question as I see it is: What is better , pushing the arm to the rear or pulling it to the front?........ I am trying to fix the stupid sys the orig builder tried to do, so before I go to cutting and fabbing on some spendy brass I have I want to know what is better, pulling the arm or pushing it?

agreed... the steel rod has greater strenght pulling than it would have trying to push the brake shoes to effect what it needs to do, pushing it would just bow the rod
