Hello, What do you guys use to attach the gasket to the back side of the oil filter/screen. I had a hard time getting the cover off and the filter out. Both gaskets ripped apart. Everything is apart and clean and I don't want this to happen again. I ended up tapping the holes in the cover with a 5/16 tap and running some bolts in for leverage to get the cover off.

put a little smear of gasket goo on the sump filter plate surface so the gasket fixes to it - it then comes off with the plate which as you have found can be a sod to get off
-same with the side filter
