I have been trying to track down a rattle. It sounds like it is coming from the engine area but not necessarily from the engine. It sounds like the kick stand is rattling against the frame, but it is not. I started by checking the drive chain, and adjusting. I recently adjusted the cam chain as directed. Now the rattle seems to have changed. It used to only do it at a certain speed/RPM. It did it at about 62mph (I am running 18 front 33 rear on sprockets - sorry no tach). Now it does it more often. I have the shaft flush on chain adjuster, with the slack out of the chain. I have rotated the motor and the shaft does come out some at certain points during a rotation but never goes deeper then flush. Does it ever need to be tighter then this? Does anyone have any other suggestions.
Thanks
Georelle

Scotts
That may be a possibility. It does sound like a chain slapping against something.
Thanks

Your adjuster should come out to just flush, with a bit, maybe 1 mm of movement in and out. If it comes out past flush, it's a bit tight.
