Does anyone have a clue where I can find an m/c rebuild kit for my 74TX? I'm not even sure what size the bore is, but I haven't been able to find one through MikesXS or anyone else. For clarification, I'm attempting to use the original iron caliper.

Butch.

Butch:
I have seen the master cylinder kits sold somewhere but they are like $70, you can buy a new m/c from Mikes for $80 (Part #08-0265) although its not the original looking round one it works just great and has a built it brake light switch.

Well, for future reference, the front master cylinder on the RD 350s and RD 400s are the same as the ones on the early TXs. That being said, the cheapest rebuild kit I've been able to find cost over 80 bucks. I'm beginning to think of just purchasing a 16mm kit for another bike, using the rubber bits, and scrapping the piston that comes with the kit.

If you come up with a reasonable solution, post it here or PM me. I have a '75 that I'd like to rebuild, too.
Yes, you can get the MC's from Mikes, but I'd like to keep that early look/vibe.

Some of the other Japanese brands used a similar m/c at about the same time, getting one that looks like yours and is the same bore size will work, and maybe a rebuild kit is cheaper for them.
