People sometimes mention that you have to adjust the timing chain for a cam based ignition system...well, guess what? You have to adjust the timing chain periodically anyway, with or without a cam based ignition system
People will also say that the weights on the advance mechanism wear out and have to be adjusted. The tabs on the weights wear out because they are constantly being stressed by the friction of the points rubbing blocks and the torque from opening the points.
Well, guess what? There is no stress with the PAMCO because there are no rubbing blocks or torque from the points opening.
Start with a new advance mechanism and it will last longer than the engine with the PAMCO installed
