Is the cap on a Standard offset from center like it is on a Special, or is it centered?

I found this tank and I'd like to buy it, but I'm unsure if it is an XS Standard tank.

Yes the cap on the later standards tank is centered and not to the side. I'm not familiar with the older models. The one in your pic looks like the one MIKESXS sells. I used to have one. Nice tank.

the TXA standard tank is the 15 liter with the cap in the centre, the cap was changed from the, keyed back of the cap to the keyed on top of the cap, I think the B model, the C and D were the same, all of these tanks had no side badges..........the E and F standard tanks had Yamaha side badges on them......the smaller 12 litre tanks on the Specials had the gas cap to one side

Thanks guys.

I went ahead and bought it -- $60.00 plus shipping.

When it finally arrives, we can discuss the best way to prep it before painting it Carmine Red.
