I recently heard of the same process for cleaning out fuel tanks. I can always use another science project, interesting.

Weekend Rider,
By 10:1 mix ratio, I assume you mean water is the 10 and Molasses is the 1. Is that right? A assume you were talking water, right.

Thanks and this is a great idea. My shock damper springs are rusted pretty bad on the inside and hard to get at.

Thanks,

I heard about this too. Where can you buy molasses anyway? I don't think I've ever seen it in stores

Most Grocery stores have molasses. Not sure what section, but ask a clerk. It is a key ingredient for Shoo Fly Pie. Where do you live?

Nobody outside of Souderton, Telford, Hatfield, Hilltown, Line Lexington, Blooming Glen, Dublin or Quakertown knows what "shoo fly pie" is. Got perogies? Wink

Yeah, we had Pierogies, Babolki, Halupki, and Gobs back home in Western PA. Came out here and ... what's all this Shoo Fly Pie and Whoopie Pie stuff?

Coca-Cola is supposed to be good for stripping rust as well. Maybe its the low ph. Wink
Good use for Coke anyway... always upsets my gut. Jeho svinske, ale jeho zdravom.

rwreed, I had never heard of it, nor have I tried it(yet). I stumbled across his site one day and thought it was a handy tip.
