Looking for recommendations. First, how often (ie: after how many miles) do you adjust your cam chain? Secondly, do you do it with the engine warm or cold? And lastly, is it as simple as removing the outside bolt, then using a screwdriver to seat the cam chain tensioner bolt until flush? Literally 5minutes? Any recommendation are appreciated!

Set with engine hot.......engine swells and the chain will tighten if not........
With engine hot and idoling I turn my adjustor in till it quits boggling in and out ......... then loosen it out about a half a turn out..........every couple of thousand miles I suppose............you want a bit of boggle but not much....
Flush is just a reference point......on the older bikes you can use the later rubber dampner inside but it won't be flush unless some of the adjustor bolt is removed..........but it matters not because flush is just a reference point....as long as you set the boggle just a bit .....hot.............
If you set it flush and it didn't boggle....that would be too tight..........

My factory manual says every 2000 miles.
