Indulge me.Aren't the 750 and the 1100 fork tubes 36 and 37mm respectively and if so are you saying they will bolt onto the 650 triple trees?

Engaging indulgence drive... The ones Ive got are 35mm, whether this is unique to UK bikes or perhaps earlier models I dont know for sure but they are in my 650 yokes (trees) ..

The xs1100 forks I have are 37 mm tubes. These are from a 79 standard.

Will the 1100-37mm forks mount into the '83 triple trees?

No. pre 77 fork tubes were 34mm, mid 77 and later 35mm

it might be possible to have the triple clamps bored to accept the larger tubes or do some checking maybe the xs1100 clamps will fit the 650 frame

The xs1100 stem is about 3/4 " to short. Swap out the stem from the 650 tree into the 1100 trees.

I picked up a set of forks and triple trees from an xs750, 36 mm tubes, 1 inch longer than the xs650 overall..
The neck stem is shorter on the 750, though I have a spare '82 650 triple tree.
I intend to swap out the stems.
Was wondering if the neck diameter is the same on the '83 xs650 and the '77 xs750- reason ? Tapered neck bearings. The xs750 came with a pair and it looks like the stem diameter is the same for both.

If you put a 650 stem in the 750 trees, use the 650 tapered roller bearing kit.
