I posted this in the Cafe racer forum by mistake.

I just found this forum and thought I'd join.

I'm in Melbourne Australia and have been a long time Yamaha fan and XS650 fan.

I built a 650 Cafe racer a few years back. I've been working on other projects over the last few years so the 650 has sat in the back of the workshop under a sheet.

I pulled it out again the other day and thought I might give it a freshen up. Hopefully I'll get it back on the road or at least put it on display in the workshop somewhere.

I'm keen on the idea of building a chrome molly frame and swing arm at some point. I've just been doing some work with 4130 and built new IRS suspension arms for a car project I've been doing. I figure a frame would be an interesting challenge.

Cheers

The shell is a fiberglass replica of an early 900SS Ducati. One of the local fiberglass race faring places had a mould. I dont know if they are still in business. They were called Racers Edge.

I made the mounts and a foam seat pad and then got a local auto trimmer to cover it for me.

Here's the view from the seat. It's a long reach to the bars.
