I'd like to put 17" or 16" spoked or cast wheels on my XS650 to run modern rubber. Any experience or suggestions? Building a sort of streetfigher/street tracker look.

the 79 and newer used a 16 inch wheel some mags some spokes. some mags used drum or disc brakes, the spokes were all drums, ebay has wheels reasonable. just get one that matches the brakes you have, swapping from one to the other is alot of work. you can also get a 16 or 17 inch rim and get it laced onto your hub. as for size a 140 is about as big as will fit with a 16 inch, a 17 maybe a 130.
