i went into the garage tonight it was very quite but i could hear a hissing noise after looking around i found it was comming from the battery on my 78 650 the whole bike is a bit damp because i gave it a good wash today and it cold ouside and its not dried of properly if i disconect the battery it stops hissing whats up?

If you had been charging the battery (engine running) and the battery vent was plugged, pressure would build up and hydrogen gas would try to leak out whereever it can. Other than that, it could be a short on the bike wiring due to water getting in. You could connect your VOM to read amps and connect meter leads between battery positive and the positive cable.

couldnt give a run as it was raining checked this morning and its well dry now and seems to be ok
