Need to get keys or key blanks for my '75' xs650. Anyone know where I can get some. (code 1711 on ignition)

Welcome aboard. This may be kinda obvious but I'd bet the dealer or maybe even a locksmith would be able to cut you a new key since you seem to have the code. Couldn't be that much.

Just got mine at a Yamaha dealer for $7.50 apiece. Took 15 minutes.

what if you dont have the key code? I am trying to replace the fork lock on my tx650. They no longer produce the parts and I dont know where the code would be. I do have a complete manufacturer label on the head. Any ideas

the ignition key should unlock the forks. I heard an interesting tip. Pull out the lock cylinder, insert your key and file down the tumblers until they are flush with the cylinder body. In other words fit the lock to the key, kind of the opposite normally done but it will let your ignition key lock the forks.
