Built a streettracker over the winter & got a few bugs to work out. Got a set of vm34 from SFL, 180 mains, 25 pilots, rod 2nd notch. One carb seems ok the other is lean. Had carb apart, clean, no restrictions, I dont see any thing wrong. Ran a leak down test, valves & rings good. 140 lb. both cyls. Motor is stock, ran great w/stock carbs. It backfires at idle, I assume a lean pop. switched carbs from one side to the other, same problem on other cyl. I must be missing something inside that carb. Does the jetting set up sound right? Thanx for any input.

Make sure the float needle's dropping and passing fuel on the problem carb, and check float level against the good one. Are the idle air screws dialed in?

Hi this is SPORTINGFORLESS . The problerm is your pilot lets they should be 12.5 not 25 and you should use these following setting mixture screw 3/4 to 1 turn out , needle clip 2nd from the top and this should getting you running fine for most applications, if you running open pipes you may need to increasde the main jet size
