is the xs2 and xs650 boyer electronic ignitions different , as i cant seem to get my xs2 set up,even though its a brand new boyer it always goes to far advanced,i know the motors are different specs but surely the timing aint that different,in set up

i don't know much about the boyer set up. when you say it goes to advanced do you mean when you rev the engine? is so can't you retard the static timing a few degrees to get it set right?

The boyer kit is the same for all XS650's , Ive got one on an XS1 motor as well as my later models.
i presume youve set it up by static by alligning the white dot with the hole? if so this is only a rough setting to get the bike started , you'll need to set it by strobe at approx 3000rpm. I find my Boyers run best very slightly retarded.
