When Changing my clutch rod oil seal - I also discovered that my primary drive gear (sprocket) was loose - not rattle loose - just fingertight - I can wiggle the nut as far as the locktab will allow -- loose. (I re-torqued it)

This resulted in a "Shiny" ring on the out facing side of my primary sprocket (all the teeth are shiny on one side like the chain was riding more on that side rather than centered on the teeth - No visable marking on the inside of the sprocket.
It doesn't look really deformed - just shiny...

Question:

Do I need to replace
The sprocket???

The Chain???

Both Sprockets and Chain???

I pulled the side cover today in day light - and my oil seal is holding tight - and upon further inspection of the Gear -
It's polished on the lower edges of the teeth where the chain rides - but not worn. I can barely even feel the wear marks with my finger.

So I'm not even going to bother flipping the gear. The teeth look in good shape.

Thanks

rear wheel out of alignment will do that too with the bike upright and level (rear wheel off ground) spin the wheel you should see equal slight space on both sides of the sprocket and chain side links, the best way to align rear wheel is equal measurement from center of swingarm bolt to center of rear axle on both sides
