Guys,
Any UK members know where I can get exhaust tape in bike quantities.
Lots of car places selling metres and metres of it for shed load of dosh.
Am I just not looking hard enough?
Gotta cover up some shitty headers before I can go for an Ascot set.

I don't know about the UK but in the states that stuff is a fortune for 10cm worth.

I know most of the headers I see with the tape on them, actually end up rusting out quicker because the moisture gets trapped in between the tape and the header. Are they salvagable? Could you sand them, and use a ceramic paint on them? Just another option that will help them look better, and last longer.

It's actually not recommended to coat your pipes with ceramic than wrap them. The heat build up supposedly disintegrates the pipes from the inside out.
That being said I'm going to do it anyway. The wrap looks cool and it hides the tarnished ceramic coating.

With the price of that tape being so high.
I think its gonna end up covered in 10 cans of high temp paint.
They arent bad, but one elbow in the headers has been rusted through the chrome and they are very blue. So ..looks like black ...maybe even silver...no ...black it is

IF YOU PUT ON THE TAPE THEN COAT THE TAPE WITH TWO TO THREE COATS OF CLEAR HIGH TEMP PAINT THAT WILL KEEP THE RUST FROM FORMING UNDER THE TAPE. IT'S CLOTH SO IF IT GETS WET IT WILL HOLD THE MOISTURE AT THE PIPES ROTTING THEM FASTER THAN THEY SHOULD.
FYI KYLE
