What Happened to 650rider.com?

650 Rider went offline for about a month at the beginning of 2010. In order to save the technical information that was here, XS650.com acquired the site and brought it back online as a read-only archive. If you were a member of 650 Rider, you will need to re-register at XS650.com

TC:
That price was just for the paint and does not include shipping which will be crazy because of the Haz-mat fees. As for the seat, the stock seats that Mike sells are basically a XS1 XS2 seat, in '73 the factory seat was different from the earlier years in that the front where it meets the tank was wider. It is actually more like the '74 to '77 seats in appearance but of course the mounts are different. If I could find a good '73 pan I could recover it, Saddleman's makes a really nice cover for about $70.00, I used one on my other bike and was very pleased with it.

At this point my original desire to build a concourse bike has taken a back seat to reality as I keep running into bumps in the road, but that almost seems to make things more interesting than it does aggravating. But we all know how it is with these bikes, as soon as it starts to look like something we get anxious to see it on the road.

The picture below is my goal with this one.

Borjawil:
It's got to be a factory blue '73 bucket, preferably in excellent condition. Yamaha changed them in '74, any early '70-'73 bucket will fit but the paint match is nearly impossible without re-mortgaging the house. I was hoping a cafe' or bobber builder that is stripping down a '73 might have one I could use. Of course before I started this restoration they were falling out of the sky but that storm has seemed to have dried up. Thanks so much for your offer though, I appreciate it.
