I'm thinking of ways to get the bike a little lower and bring the tire closer to the fender. Is there a way to adjust the swingarm to do this or would I have to replace the springs? Any other ideas on lowering it? I allready took some foam out of the seat.

I installed 11" aftermarket Harley shocks which lowered the rear close to 2". I then slid my front fork tubes up through the top triple tree the same amount. Check out the pics of my bike in the gallery. I wouldn't go more than 2" as I do have to watch going over speed bumps Etc. But it defintely looks better.

JC Whitney has a lowering kit for the XS that moves the rear shock mount about 2 or three inches back...lowers the bike 2-3 inches or so...about $30...looks good...well made...and cheap

Do you know the item number for the lowering kit you're talking about? I only found one on that site and it cost 67-140.

I found this kit from JC Whitney but the site says it will not work with my Xs. Is this the same kit you were referring to ?
