I want to strip the paint on my 1972 XS650 and would like suggestions on the best paint stripping agent. Cheers

I used aircraft stripper from Home Depot. Peeled right off....

When I was in the Air Force the paint shop guys called it elephant snot. MEK, methyl-ethyl-ketone. A slimy,snooty stuff but will eat most every thing but the steel. Don't use on plastic parts.

Thanks. So I can use it to strip the frame too right? Is there a brand name just I know exactly what to look for at Home Depot? Thanks a lot.

Just ask for MEK they should know what brands use it.

I use Nitromors stripper, looks like it might be the same sort of stuff Cretin used.

aircraft stripper here too, autozone or oreilly's , its in the paint section blue and white can. stuff kicks butt.

good advice= dont use aircraft stipper in a windy area (backdraft=burned eyes lol) but the stuff works really well

aircraft stripper.. ive used it on wheels and parts both works great. put it on .. let it sit for a short period of time and wipe it off. repeat until your satisfied..

plus its cheap and easily accessable
