There are no answers in Washington. Invest your faith in local people you trust. Invest your money in land and ammunition.

Amen to Modemcyclist. The answers are not with the politicians, so live your life how you want to live it.

Very simplistic and narrow view, try looking at it this way.
By educating and giving them a chance to have safe sex, (religious missionaries refuse to allow condoms), there will be less aids and pregnancies = better standard of living. Education gives people a choice to choose what they can do rather than a fundamentalist education that breeds ignorance and is a big part of the anti American problem.........An example: Here in Aus an Islamic cleric has recently advocated rape within marriage is a write and also to beat your wife is a mans write. The Islamic council and a Muslims in Aus have condemned and called for a retraction of the statement ................... leaders of Fundamentalists know if choices and education are taken away then the masses are controlled and manipulated more easily, Pol pot, Taliban, Iran, North Korea, and most of the Arab states. And where do most of the terrorists come from? The exact places just mentioned...............Giving aid to schools properly managed in the long term can only benefit America and undo some of the damage G.W. has done in the last 8 years.

Agree.
Interesting pick by the NY Gov to replace Billery. A conservative democrat? Is that a dino and possibly a Libertarian in policies?

Hi Guys,

Just in passing: I've watched closely, and I have never seen gangs of guns running around late at night, beating up people as they come out of convenience stores. Just doesn't happen.

On the other hand, today on the news they are talking about some non-English speaking people in the midwest who ended up with a couple of people dead from an apparent shooting at a funeral! SE Asians who didn't speak English....

The thing that we need to think about is this: it is always easier for the more civilized to revert to the standards of the less civilized than it is for the less civilized to rise to the higher standard. In an educated and civilized society, we wouldn't have to rely on the Second Amendment at all---look at Switzerland. Every adult (male, but hopefully they'll get past that one) is in the military (militia) and has his weapon at home--full-auto selector and all. They don't have people shooting one another over drugs or popcorn or tennis-shoes or whatever.

I haven't a problem with legal immigrants, in fact, I welcome them. I do insist, however, that they accept the way we live, and attempt to forge a better life for themselves and their kids. That's supposed to be the reason people came to this Country--to better their lot, and that of their children.

As far as Hillary's replacement goes, doesn't every person in the government (and military) take an oath to "Support and Defend" the Constitution? And unless I'm very mistaken, the Second Amendment is part of that Constitution, right? End of issue, as far as I'm concerned.

Sorry for the long rant. Maybe I don't see the problems of places like New York or L.A. because I live in the country.......

There is an inch of snow on the ground, and I want to go for a ride! Confused

Guns will have no place for private citizens in the up and coming socialist state after they finally finish totally destroying the economy.........just watch as the ugly comedy unfolds.........next Columbine and it's over...........

Here is just one example.....MANY>>>MANY to follow for sure.......one step at a time until they reach their goal.........while we Americans watch in horror.....and think the Constitution protects us.....

I have an issue with the gun ownership for sure. I grew up in Miami Fl with a gun at my side. My weapon extends my ability to protect my wife, home and community - The f*** I'll give it up with out a fight and that's that.

Guess no liberal would believe it but Wild Bill Clinton really set us up with all those trade deals that took out economy out from under us......and he is still out there selling us out.......and Bill Gates made the economy in the 90's not Wild Bill.......so what did a democrat really do for us in our lifetimes.........or republican for that matter.....

Maybe the single biggest flaw is the Fed and its ability to run a deficet.....no state can.....or any of us for that matter......for very long....

And socialism is not something that cant be easily excaped from without a total rebellion.........which either happens or they don't excape......your neighbor will turn you in for even suggesting it.......and those who oppose it quietly will be called the underground......where have I head that.....
