I just Purchased on eBay a original right side cover for my 82 xs650 special
The cover was advertised as colour ,new Yamaha black & still with original paper Yamaha wrapping with model number 4N9-21721-00-45
Pic 1, Pic 2 & pic 3
It don’t look to black to me it really looks like it a repaint

Pic 4 & 5 is of an original cover I purchased some time ago.

Have I been duded I am also wondering what colour is the cover in Pic 1

Ant comment or advice PLEASE

Hey Wally, the American model, 80G special 2 came out with Indigo blue, the side covers, had stencils instead of badges as indicated by the lack of holes on the cover. The cover you bought looks to have been painted over a black cover. Ask the seller for some sort of restitution, then if they do not then you have 2 things you can do. Give them bad feedback and also go through the complaints dept with eBay, it is a long and repeditive process to go through complaints but if action is not taken then the seller will do it to some one else...................Here is a good site for IDing the American models
