hello all...heres how i did the carbs on stock 81 sh carbs...first thing was removed caps on each carb to adjust the air mixture screws,pulled them out sure enough rubber o-rings torn, half gone...ordered new from mikesxs....took the float bowls off,replaced all jets and needle seats and valves...also pulled screened filters on bottom of need valves off...i used a 142.5main jet,a 45 pilot jet,and a 127.5 air jet....air screws 3 & 1 half turns out...............installed new rubber plugs that cover pilot jets,and new intake manifold gaskets....i also have an excell super coil # 140403-s
rev-tech plug wires and new ngk spark plugs gapped at 28in....also k&n pod filters..........she runs like a champ.....hope this helps someone,john81xs
